On March 5, 2026, Syensqo, a global leader in advanced materials, and Vartega, a pioneer in carbon fiber recycling technologies, announced a technical and commercial collaboration to jointly build a circular utilization ecosystem for carbon fiber composites, promote the sustainable development of high-performance carbon fiber materials, and help global manufacturing achieve carbon neutrality goals.
This collaboration focuses on the efficient recycling and high-value reuse of post-industrial carbon fiber waste. Syensqo will supply dry carbon fiber and prepreg waste generated from its North American production bases to Vartega. Vartega will convert this waste into high-quality EasyFeed Bundles™ recycled carbon fiber through its patented recycling process, which will then be integrated into Syensqo’s carbon fiber-reinforced specialty polymer ECHO portfolio for applications in high-performance fields such as automotive structural parts, damping rings, and transmission components.
Gabriel Molina, Director of Composite Materials Sustainable Development at Syensqo, stated: “We are thrilled to partner with Vartega to ensure that our carbon fiber waste finds a new life within our own product portfolio. This collaboration is an important step in our sustainability strategy, demonstrating the responsibility and commitment of advanced materials companies in promoting the circular economy.”
Todd Albers, Chief Executive Officer of Vartega, said: “The partnership with Syensqo is a significant milestone in the carbon fiber recycling field. Together, we will create a full-chain closed loop from waste recycling and regeneration to reapplication, providing a brand-new solution for the sustainable development of high-performance composites.”
